Geoff Broadway

I am a UK-based artist, photographer, filmmaker and educator with over 30 years of experience in the creative and cultural sector. I studied photography and film at the University of Derby (BA Hons) and completed a 4-year MPhil research degree1999. My teaching practice includes lecturing and tutoring at the University of Derby, the University of Sunderland and Auckland University in New Zealand.

My creative practice includes undertaking residencies and commissions, including the University of Sunderland, Durham Cathedral, Jubilee Arts in West Bromwich and the Medialab Prado in Madrid. Commissions include Birmingham Cathedral, Snibston Discovery Centre, and Laundry Arts. My current practice includes mentoring, consultancy and coaching which I offer for individuals, creatives and organisations. I also work with small organisations to support them to gain clarity around vision, mission and project development.

I established the Living Memory Project CIC in 2020 which leads community-focused projects that record, share, and celebrate aspects of individual and community life. We present exhibitions and film screenings, offer training workshops, and produce bespoke publications. We regularly offer creative commissions to artists, filmmakers, photographers and cultural workers on a project-by-project basis.

I am passionate about supporting others as part of their own creative journey.  I offer one-to-one and group workshops around photography, filmmaking, and creative life stories.
